IIPG itself is a nonprofit organization that focuses on governance issues in the private sector (corporations) and the public sector (government institutions) is continuing its 17 years of efforts under the name of the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship (IICD).

Chairman IIPG who is also Chairman of IICD Sigit Pramono said, the idea of IIPG is to continue what has been done by IICD before, which has given awards to public companies. The development of governance assessment for the public or government sector is the basis for the birth of the idea of granting APN.
